Kellie Martin is the American actress and film director popularly known for her roles as Christy Huddleston in the period drama "Christy", Rebecca Thatcher on the family drama Life Goes On> and Lucy Knight for the medical drama ER. Kellie Martin is best known for her role as the protagonist on the Hailey Dean Mystery Series. Born to a department store owner and a kindergarten teacher Martin started her career in acting in the age of seven years old when her aunt who worked as a nanny for Michael Landon's children helped her land an appearance in the 1982 show 'Father Murphy'. When she completed her studies at Yale University in 1982, Martin began to take her acting profession more serious. She was able to land important roles on TV as well as big screens. Martin is, in addition to being a skilled actor and dancer, she is also an accomplished ballet photographer. Martin's sister, who died from Lupus at the age of 19, was the inspiration behind her becoming the Lupus national spokesperson.
